Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information SG Heartland Guides collects, why, and what you can do about it. We are an independent publisher of Singapore service directories based in Singapore. You can reach us at hello@sgheartlandguides.com.

1. What we collect

There are only two routes by which we hold information about you.

• Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the subject you selected, and whatever you write in the message. That is the whole of it.
• Site analytics. We use analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. This records technical information such as page URL, referring source, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser and device type. It is used in aggregate and is not used to build a profile of you.

We do not ask for a phone number anywhere on this site, we do not run a login or account system, and we do not sell anything, so we never collect payment information.

2. Business listings are not personal data collection

Our directories list businesses, compiled from public sources. That is business information, not personal information about you as an individual, and no business is asked to submit anything to be listed. If a listing includes something that identifies you personally, or you simply want the listing gone, see section 6.

3. Why we use it

• To reply to your message, and only for that purpose.
• To process corrections, disputes and removal requests.
• To understand which pages are useful and improve them.
• To detect and block spam submissions to the contact form.

We do not use your email address for marketing. There is no newsletter, no promotional list, and nobody will call you, because we do not collect a phone number and have nothing to sell.

4. Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information. It is shared only with:

• Our form and hosting providers, who process contact-form submissions and serve this site on our behalf.
• Our analytics provider, on the terms described above.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose something.

5. How long we keep it

Contact-form messages are retained while a request is being handled and for a reasonable period afterwards so we have a record of what was asked and what we did. Analytics data is retained in aggregate. If you want your message deleted sooner, ask and we will delete it.

6. Removing a listing, and your other rights

If you are a business owner and want your listing changed or removed, email hello@sgheartlandguides.com with your business name, the directory it appears on, and what you want changed. Removal requests are honoured, they are free, and a removed business is not penalised. The full process, including our five-business-day target, is at corrections, disputes and removals.

You can also ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it.

Requests go to the same address and are handled on the same timescale.

7. Cookies

This site uses cookies for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them. We do not use advertising cookies, because we do not sell advertising.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to contact-form submissions is limited to the editor. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us anything sensitive that you would not want held in an email inbox.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version appears here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.
